CO2 Cortex Skin Resurfacing Laser
As a person ages, their collagen production begins to decline which leads to the breakdown of the skin’s underlying support structure. Daily exposure to UV rays and other environmental elements can cause the skin to become discolored and premature wrinkles may emerge. Treatments with the Cortex laser system will enhance the skin’s strength and elasticity. The skin will have a smoother, tighter texture and pigmentation problems will begin to diminish.
Who Is a Good Candidate?
Healthy patients with realistic expectations who are seeking total skin rejuvenation or treatment of scars from surgery or acne are excellent candidates for fractionated CO2 laser resurfacing. Patients with active inflammatory skin conditions may require treatment of these conditions before lasering, and those with very dark skin are not good candidates because of a risk of changing the skin’s native color.
How Does The CO2 Laser Feel On My Skin?
Treatment sensations vary from person to person. As tiny pulses of energy are delivered into the skin, most patients will experience a warm sharp feeling and an immediate tightening of the skin. Anesthetic ointments and cooling devices may be used to reduce any discomfort during and after the CO2 treatment. Patients may look and feel like they have a mild sunburn for a few days after the treatment. Over the course of 3-5 days, the old damaged skin will begin to come off and light flaking will continue for up to 10 days. This is part of the skin’s healing process.

Microneedling
A collagen-stimulating treatment for skin rejuvenation targeting textural issues dealing with pores, acne scars, and wrinkles. The technique involves using multiple tiny, sterile needles to puncture the skin and cause physical trauma.
This trauma prompts the derma, a deeper layer of skin, to rebuild.
Microneedling may help address many skin-related complaints, including:
wrinkles
scarring
acne
alopecia
skin pigmentation issues
stretch marks
rosacea
loose skin, such as after weight loss or liposuction
